Warsaw was a nice break from the frozen tundra that was Kraków. We got there Tuesday just in time to check in to the hotel and grab lunch at the large mall across the street. From there we were given the rest of the day to do as we pleased before a walking tour of the ghetto the next morning. Our group was taken around the city that morning and shown highlights of the history of the ghetto. After the tour, Katie and I decided to go see the old town where we grabbed a quick bite for lunch! In old town, we walked through the university and marveled at the castle.
The next day was sadly our last, and we visited the Warsaw Uprising Museum. This was a slightly confusing place, but it held a lot of information too. The group split for a quick bite before heading to the neon museum. After the neon museum, we split up again and my group headed to the Chopin museum and the top of the Stalin tower. We had some more progies before getting a good nights rest.
We enjoyed exploring Warsaw and we even got to experience all the forms of public transportation! It was interesting to walk through the city because it had a lot of varying architecture. One area would be completely new, the next would be relatively old, and the next would be under construction. Most of the city seemed to be under construction honestly. I think one of the great things about our visit to Warsaw, was that we had so much time to explore the city by ourselves. Yes we did that in every other city as well, but this felt different to me. We were able to navigate public transportation by ourselves, something that made me quite nervous actually, and I was very excited when we successfully made it back to the hotel!
